Proposed transfer to Ormiston Academies Trust

Governors and Principal have been exploring local and national partnerships that might help the school to continue to improve. We felt that the best option for the school was to look at joining a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) who already has an established and well respected local and national network.

Governors have decided that the best route forwards for Flegg High is to join Ormiston Academies Trust. We will continue to have the same values, ethos and drive to look after your children and this is shared by Ormiston Academies Trust.

The partnership with OAT would offer a wide range of support structures for the school and staff, as well as enriching the student experience across the whole curriculum. Our conclusion is that joining Ormiston is the most sensible and positive decision that we can make now in our school’s journey.

As a standalone academy, the governors are very aware that in order to secure long term sustainability, and to ensure appropriate challenge and support, the most sensible and proactive route forward is to be part of a larger network of schools.

In early 2018 Flegg High will transfer to OAT to join the 30+ primary and secondary academies already within the OAT Family.

We are excited about the opportunity for the school to begin engaging at a regional and national level. It promises to offer much for all the school community, and we know that students, families, staff, governors and the wider community will be richer for it.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support.

Your Sincerely,

Dr Simon Fox, Principal and Peter Spencer, Chair of Governors

Welcome

Our School Values

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Flegg High School website, and to a small window into our school. The core of everything we do is our student body, and if they are safe, happy and successful then to my mind we are doing very well indeed. My job as Principal is to take Flegg High School from a good school to an outstanding school.

I am incredibly lucky to have an excellent group of staff, a passionate and dedicated team of Governors and a wonderful school of learners and parents to help us get there. The aim of this website is to introduce you to the school and the exciting educational opportunities that we offer.

Dr Simon Fox, Principal
