Flegg High Strategic summary
Exam results and examinations
The school has an outstanding reputation for raising money for local, national and international charities.
Half termly non-uniform days are a major fund raising idea where young people are asked to make a donation to charities decided by the students themselves. Some of the charities that have benefited from our donations include Childline, Children in Need, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Comic Relief, Operation Porridge, Cancer Research and our latest donation went to Hemsby Inshore Rescue. Other fundraising events include cake sales, raffles and sponsored events.
The school also have an Event Team that is made up of staff and student volunteers who organise and attend events at the school such as the Easter Fayre in March, The Flegg’s Farmers Market & Village Fayre in July and The Christmas Market in November. The Event Team also attend and promote the school at other community events such as The Martham Scarecrow Festival and the Martham Carnival. The Team have raised thousands of pounds for additional equipment that students have requested such as music stands, gym equipment, easels for the art studio, sewing machines for the craft club and camera’s for various departments. Being part of the event team allows students to be involved in something different and helps to build their confidence. At every event our students are praised for their smart appearance and friendly and helpful manner.
