Extra-curricular activities

Extra-curricular activities

We believe it is very important that children who attend Flegg High School Academy extend their interests and talents as much as possible OUTSIDE the classroom.  We have a very strong reputation both locally and nationally for our participation in sporting events and a dedicated staff ensure there is a wide range of sports which children can participate in to whatever level they are capable of.

We also have a wide variety of extra-curricular activities apart from sport which include Music, Dance, Art, Photography, Catering and Enterprise competitions.  Children learn and develop important life-skills such as teamwork, co-operation, creativity and very importantly opportunities to challenge themselves.  School trips are a regular feature of the school’s extra-curricular programme and provide outstanding enrichment experience for the children who participate.  Recent trips have included Kenya, Spain, Test match at Lords and Cambridge University amongst many others.

An annual Year 8 camp exemplifies the features of teamwork and co-operation in terms of extra-curricular activity.
