The Governors and Staff of the school recognise that we have an important role to play in helping our community to understand climate change issues and their part in helping to protect the environment.
Learning about Climate Change and sustainability delivered through the curriculum, and through assemblies, activities, special events and STEM competitions.
The live data from the wind turbine and solar panels is used to support learning in science lessons.
Working in Partnership with Adnams and Easton and Otley College, a student run horticultural company, "The Great Growing Company" has been established. The students grow fruit, vegetables and herbs and supply local Adnams Pubs and restaurants and the school kitchen with fresh produce, reducing both the school’s and Adnam’s carbon footprint.
In March 2017, the school won the Norwich and Norfolk Eco Awards Secondary school of the Year, recognising the whole school commitment to sustainability.
Resources have ben invested in making the school more environmentally friendly. This includes a biomass boiler, a wind turbine, energy efficient lighting, a Power Perfector and solar PV panels.
The school grounds are managed to encourage biodiversity and students have been involved in making bat boxes, planting trees and gardening projects.
